::PREDOCTORAL POSITION AT THE UNIVERSITY OF SEVILLE
DEPARTMENT OF MEDICAL PHYSIOLOGY AND BIOPHYSICS
INSTITUTE OF BIOMEDICAL OF SEVILLE (IBIS)::We are seeking a motivated individual with a bachelor’s degree in Biomedicine, Biomedical Engineering, Medical Physics, Health Engineering, or a related field, eligible to apply for a predoctoral contract linked to the project: Clinical feasibility of gold nanoparticles as theragnostic agent for precision radiotherapy.
Comprehensive details regarding the official announcement will be available on the University of Seville's website in mid-December.The workplace will be the School of Medicine at the University of Seville. Experimental tasks will be conducted in the Radiophysics and Radiotherapy services of the Virgen Macarena and Virgen del Rocío Hospitals in Seville, as well as the central laboratories of the University and Institute of Biomedicine of Seville (IBiS) for in vitro and in-vivo experiments, and imaging acquisitions. There is a possibility that some tasks may need to be carried out at Harvard Medical School in Boston, USA.
The research activities of the group are focused on the following topics approached from two distinct perspectives: biomedical and physics.
Nanoparticles for cancer treatment using radiotherapy.
Biological dosimetry using cytogenetics, immunofluorescence and/or transcriptomics.
Development of tools for morpohofunctional imaging for animal experimental models.
Verification and quality assurance of complex radiation therapy treatments.
Modeling for in-silico stage by simulation of the physical, chemical and biology processThe candidate is expected to be eligible to enroll in Ph.D. Program “Biología Molecular, Biomedicina e Investigación Clínica” (http://institucional.us.es/bmbic/)
Interested individuals are encouraged to contact Prof. Antonio Leal Plaza as soon as possible before the publication of the call (December 15th).
