Looking for a Ph.D. candidate in the Neuropharmacology and Pain group

Project:
“Wireless photopharmacology for real-time modulation of G protein-coupled receptors in neurological disorders and pain”

Description:
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Ph.D. student to join the research group at the Institute of Neurosciences, University of Barcelona, IDIBELL (http://www.ub.edu/neuropharmpain/) by applying to Joan Oró FI 2024.

The project, in collaboration with Prof. John A Rogers (Northwestern University, https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/?term=john%20rogers%20and%20wireless&sort=date), aims to use wireless technology (e.g., radio waves) coupled to micro-LED implants to remotely activate/deactivate light-sensitive compounds (photodrugs) with therapeutic purposes in models of disease.

Candidate*:
The holder of the grant will be expected to complete a Ph.D. degree in the Doctoral Program in Biomedicine or in Medicine and Translational Research during his/her grant tenure.
●Candidates with a grade and a master’s degree in Biomedicine or Neuroscience (or relative) with an average score ≥ 8.2/10 are welcome
●Good English level
●The grant will cover stages abroad to expand scientific training.
