Research Associate Pre-doctoral position in Biomaterials Sciences and
Tissue Engineering is available at the Center for Biomedical Technology,
Polytechnic University of Madrid, Spain.
The Position is funded by the HORIZON EIC-PATHFINDEROPEN-01 THOR
Project (European Union, 101046784).
You will work on a highly innovative European project, involving 5 EU institutions, and

leaded by the Polytechnic University of Madrid. You will be integrated in a multi-
disciplinary team comprising materials and biomedical engineers, electronic engineers,

MDs, neuroscientists, and biologists.
In our project we are developing a revolutionary engineering technology, capable of
producing any type of human tissue and organ. Our artificial tissues will be suitable for
repairing or replacing human organs that have been damaged by illness, trauma, or
degenerative diseases.
Patient-tailored tissues will be fabricated by pools of bioinspired mini-robots, using
self-assembling molecules and polymeric fibers, pluripotent cells, and other
biomaterials functionalized with photoactivable crosslinkers.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated person, willing to join the
Biomaterials and Regenerative Engineering Group, leader of the THOR project
(http://www.ctb.upm.es/; https://www.upm.es/internacional).
We offer a four-year, full-time contract, starting on July 1st, 2023, a competitive salary,
