We urgently seek a postdoc to work on the Computational design of biological systems.
We look for a recent Ph.D. in any area of science or engineering, with strong mathematical and programming skills (C++, Linux). Research will involve the computational design of biological systems and the bacterial construction of synthetic genetic circuits with targeted behaviour for biofuel and biomedical applications (http://synth-bio.org). Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as well as willingness to work in a team with experimentalists.
The work will take place at the newly created institute of Systems and Synthetic Biology (iSSB) within Genopole (South Paris) that is the largest French Biopark. The appointment is available immediately and it is for one year, renewable annually for up to three years. The city of Paris offers special housing/activities for foreign researchers (http://www.ciup.fr/researchers.htm). The post will remain open until filled.
