The Fetal Medicine and Perinatal Research Group at l'Institut d'Investigacions Biomèdiques August Pi i Sunyer (IDIBAPS) and Hospital Clinic in Barcelona, invites applications for a IEF Marie-Curie (Intra European Fellowship program) postdoctoral research position in the area of molecular perinatal brain damage. The candidate will mainly focus in advanced 3D microscopy imaging techniques in experimental models for understanding brain damage and associated pathophysiological processes. The aim of the project is to transfer the obtained basic science know-how to clinical devices for early diagnostics in prenatal brain damage. To do this, the project is integrated within a transdisciplinary team with Medical Doctors, Biologists, Physicists and Engineers in which synergic technologies (Ultrasound, MRI, Photonics, gene expression, cell culture, immunochemical and biochemical approaches) provide a broad picture of the clinical problem.Tasks Description:
- Development of new labelling protocols of thick tissues
- Utilization of 3D advanced microscope
- Work in a transdiciplinary environment:
1) Quantification neuronal-glial density in brain areas
2) Study of GABAergic & Glutamatergic neurotransmission systems in developing brain
3) Microanatomical characterization of cortical circuit networks
4) Disrupt cortical circuits
5) Strategy definition for bioinformatics studiesType of contract:
- Duration: 1 year (+1 year optional)
- Full time job
- Remuneration: ± 57.000 €/year (compulsory social contributions and direct taxes included)Profile:
-PhD in Biology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering or a related subject, experience on immunohistochemistry, and developing new labelling protocols for thick tissue blocks. Knowledge of advanced labelling techniques, transge (...)
