Bacterial Pathogenomics / Molecular and Cellular Microbiology
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position to work in the field of bacterial pathogenomics. Building on the genome sequence of Rhodococcus equi determined by the host group, the research aims to understanding the complex pathogen-eukaryotic host cell interactions mechanisms underlying intracellular survival and proliferation of this pathogenic bacterium.
The post
Tenable for up to 2 years. Annual salary in the region of £25,000. The post will be based at the Institute for Infection, Immunity and Evolution, Ashworth Laboratories, King’s Buildings campus close to the city centre. Excellent scientific environment and research facilities.
The candidate
PhD in molecular microbiology, molecular and cellular biology or similar. Vocational approach to science and strong motivation to pursue a research career. You must be an enthusiastic and hard-working individual with initiative, interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and as a part of a team. The ability to communicate in English, both oral and written, and relevant IT knowledge is essential.
