Communities Coordinator

Everybody's on a different channel these days.Amid all the noise, can you help people to tune in?
Are you able to connect community with people, people with community and make it all belong? Can you convince people that they matter and that their shared values matter; that they belong?
The Communities Coordinator is a role that radiates out from these central nuclei and connects to three main communities within the organization.These three communities are diverse but share a common love of science in general and photonics in particular. These communities are the Alumni, the Institute's Social Media Community and the Internal Community.
The needs of each of these communities are distinct, as are the Institute's aims vis-a-vis each one. Hence, the role demands a wide variety of skills.
What skills do I need?
Communication - clear and effective yet diplomatic
Organization - to always be on top of the workload
Prioritization and time management - you'll often be faced with conflicting demands
Messaging - awareness of how the values of the institute can best be represented whether on social media, for alumni or internally
Basic database, social media algorithm and Wordpress knowledge - these will be key tools in your day-to-day tasks
Attention to detail - precision and accuracy are just as important as the message itself
Flexibility - events may run late, schedules may change, the unexpected may happen so a degree of flexibility is essentialResponsibilities:
Alumni community:Develop and execute a detailed action plan for the Alumni program including services, assessment mechanisms, events, alumni website/platform maintenance, and mechanisms for engagement and communication.
Cultivation of long term relationships with alumni ensuring their engagement, developing and maintaining the Alumni database and platform and extracting information from this data.Social Media Community:
Cultivation of a strong social media presence, engaging with users, implementing campaigns to increase followers and engagement, and creating content reflective of the culture and activities of the institute.Internal Communications Community:
Engagement with members of the internal community through all possible channels to promote institutional interests and events.Requirements:
• 2+ years' experience in a communication-related role
• University degree in a related discipline
• C1 level or better English, Catalan and Spanish
• Be a citizen of the European Union OR already have permission to live and work thereWhat are the benefits?
