Are you a postdoctoral researcher thinking about the next step in your scientific career? We are seeking a PhD in Computer Science or related disciplines to join our team at CiTIUS | Centro Singular de Investigación en Tecnoloxías Intelixentes da USC in Santiago de Compostela, Spain. In this role, you will be responsible for developing a set of proof-of-concept applications based on previous research results in the field of Artificial Intelligence for its application in real environments in the sectors of interest of the EDIH DATAlife initiative. The ideal candidate will have expertise in designing and applying machine learning algorithms, parallel computing, data analysis, scientific software programming languages, and software development tools such as Git.
Key Responsibilities:
• Development of a set of proof-of-concept applications based on previous research results in the field of Artificial Intelligence for its application in real environments in the sectors of interest of the EDIH DATAlife initiative (Digital Innovation Hub for the deployment of Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics in SMEs in the primary, biotechnological and health sectors).
• Job duties will include requirement analysis, proof-of-concept design and development, technical reporting and technical training.
Evaluation criteria:
• PhD (requirement) in Computer Science or related disciplines.
• Fluent English (B2 or C1 level or equivalent).
• Creditable work experience in designing and applying machine learning algorithms, parallel computing, data analysis, scientific software programming languages, and software development tools such as Git.
• Papers in international scientific journals in the field of Computer Science or related disciplines.
Desirable skills
• Highly motivated candidates with an excellent scientific track-record.
• The candidate will be organized, hard-working and have the ability to work in a team and interdisciplinary environment.
• Good communication skills.
Position details
• Contract period: 15/10/2023 – 31/12/2025
• Full-time contract with a gross salary of 2,198,27€/month (14 months salary)
