Full-time 1 year postdoctoral position at the MemBioPhys group from the Institute of Molecular Science (ICMol), Universitat de València (Spain), with possibilities of extension.
We are working on adding optical control to the insertion, folding and dimerization of transmembrane (TM) protein fragments in lipid membranes. Our aim is to better understand these relevant processes at the molecular level, with the help of static and time-resolved spectroscopies and molecular dynamics simulations.
The candidate will add optical control to the dimerization of TM helices a process of huge relevance in the activation of some receptors, implemented and characterized using Glycophorin A as a model. The candidate will then exploit the attained optical control to study the structural dynamics of helix-helix dimerization with the aid of time-resolved spectroscopies.
Researcher from different backgrounds are welcomed.
