Job offer - PhD candidate - ERC project PHOTOFLUX - Remote sensing of photosynthesis - Universitat de Valencia

In the context of the ERC project PHOTOFLUX <<Global assessment of plant photosynthesis optimization for climate change versus enhanced plant productivity>>

We are looking for a motivated PhD candidate with a Master’s degree in Remote Sensing, Physics, Biology, Bioscience Engineering, Environmental science or other relevant field.

• The candidate has a large interest in the biophysical behaviour of vegetation and its interaction with light. The candidate is eager to learn about proximal and remote sensing techniques for vegetation, applying signal and data processing to experimental and simulated data
• Good programming skills in Python, R and/or Matlab are highly valuated
• Experience with laboratory and/or field experimental set-ups is highly valuated
• The applicant can use English as a proficient communication language, for both speaking and writing

We offer:
• A 3-year research opportunity at the Laboratory of Earth Observation at the University of Valencia in the context of an ERC project, starting 1st of October 2022
• A full-time (35h/week) contract as PhD candidate Researcher according to the salary scales of the University of Valencia

• International research in the context of the upcoming Fluorescence Explorer (FLEX) satellite mission
