BLOODGENETICS, S.L. is a spin-off of recent creation (Nov 2016) dedicated to genetics and biochemical services in haematological diseases using the latest technology. The Josep Carreras Leukemia Research Institute (IJC) is a non-profit research institute based in Barcelona and dedicated to advancing our understanding about leukaemia and related disorders, in partnership with the University of Barcelona and Autonomous University of Barcelona. The IJC has laboratories in three clinical campuses: i) Clinic Hospital, ii) Sant Pau Hospital and iii) Germans Trias i Pujol Hospital. The IJC serves as a collaborative hub for basic investigators and physicians to work together on fundamental biological and clinical aspects of haematology. We are looking for a highly motivated post-doctoral researcher to join BLOODGENETICS with a 3-year Torres Quevedo contract. Research is done in joint collaboration with the Dr. Sanchez laboratory at IJC Campus Germans Trias i Pujol/ICO Badalona.

• Expansion of the portfolio of BLOODGENETICS, including the development of new NGS-targeted gene panels in haematology.
• Design, implement and conduct experiments related to research in new genes implied in new haematological entities by doing WES, WGS, RNA expression experiments (Fluidigm platform) in patient samples and work with animal models (mouse/zebrafish).
• Conduct data analysis and prepare data for presentation in peer-reviewed journals and at professional meetings.
• Prepare protocols for SOP, PNTs and ISOs. Prepare manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed journals.
• Liaise with and coordinate experimental duties with medical Doctors from national and international Hospitals and with representatives of collaborative companies.Requirements
• Researcher previously awarded with a Juan de la Cierva or Ramon y Cajal contract and with a positive evaluation.
• Extensive experience in Human Genetics and Molecular/Cell biology and Mouse Biology.
• Experience in the use of NGS, WES, WGS, CRISPR-Cas9 genome editing and mouse biology will be a plus.
• Compulsory: Good track record of early achievements, including significant publications (as main author, impact factor >6) in major international peer reviewed scientific journals.
• International previous mobility will be a plus
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with other team members.
• Organized, hard-working person and proactive, self-motivated and enthusiastic.What we offer
