Within this research group we study the possibilities of using renewable raw materials to develop new polymeric materials that might have the potential to substitute existing (fossil oil based) materials or open up completely new application possibilities. The research will mainly be focused on the synthesis and characterization of novel monomers and polymers applying state-of-the-art organic, catalytic as well as macromolecular procedures. A good knowledge of organic and/or macromolecular chemistry (including controlled/living radical polymerization techniques) in combination with a profound understanding of all necessary analytical techniques is a must for this position. Qualified applicants must have a master’s degree (or equivalent) in Chemistry (preferably organic synthesis) or Polymer Science (with experience in polymer synthesis).
Please send your application (including cover letter, CV, motivation and list of publications) preferably as PDF documents via Email - to: Dr. Gerard Lligadas: gerard.lligadas at urv.cat.
