A position at the Postdoctoral level is currently available in the Gene Regulation Lab at the IDIBAPS Research Institute (Barcelona, Spain), to work in the area of “Transcriptional Regulation of Gene Expression during Cell Differentiation and Cancer”. The group investigates the role of transcription factors ZEB1 (δEF1, zfh1xa) and ZEB2 (SIP1, zfhx1b), that over the last 2-3 years have become key regulators of cell differentiation, generation and maintenance of cancer stem cells, and tumor invasion and metastasis.
The successful candidate will be able to develop a research project in one of the hottest areas in molecular oncology using a wide array of techniques and in vitro and in vivo models.
REQUIREMENTS
PhD in Biology, Biotechnology or related discipline obtained AFTER January 2005. Higher consideration would be given to candidates that have:
strong publication record with at least 2 first author articles
strong background in Molec. Biology & Biochemistry
Experience in transcriptional regulation and/or in the area of gene expression in the epithelial, hematopoeitic or muscle systems will be a definitive advantage.CONDITIONS
The selected candidate will be presented to a competitive call for 2-3 yrs. postdoctoral contracts. If his/her CV is competitive enough it would be possible to offer him/her a contract while the call is awarded. Expected starting date: July-October, 2011
