Applications are invited for a Laboratory Technician position at CIC biomaGUNE in San Sebastian to contribute to the development of new inorganic nanomaterials for biological and medical applications.
Candidates should have an academic qualification in Chemistry or biosciences, and good communication skills, enthusiasm, flexibility and commitment to working to a very high standard.
Experience in synthetic chemistry and standard methods and techniques for the characterisation and purification of organic and inorganic compounds is essential. Experience using inert-atmosphere gloveboxes and handling air-sensitive materials and/or handling and purifying biomolecules and/or nanomaterials would be beneficial. Knowledge of Spanish and English is desirable. The selected candidate will provide assistance to other researchers in their projects, but he/she will be given the opportunity to pursue independent research.
CIC biomaGUNE is a newly established centre developing interdisciplinary research in biofunctional nanomaterials, biosurfaces and molecular imaging. The infrastructure of the centre has been designed, constructed and equipped to carry out ambitious cutting-edge research projects and to develop innovative applications in the areas of Functional Pre-Clinical and Molecular Imaging and in Nanomedicine. It provides a stimulating research environment and conditions and equipment which are unique in Spain and among the best in Europe.
Salary ranges between 15206 to 20923 euros (gross salary/year) depending on experience. The contract is permanent but the position will be reviewed based on performance every three years. The postholder will be given the opportunity to pursue independent research and learn new skills. It may possible for the postholder to gain new qualifications and degrees based on his/her research work.
