Bacterial Pathogenomics / Molecular and Cellular Microbiology
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position to work in the field of bacterial pathogenomics. Building on the genome sequence of Rhodococcus equi determined by the host group, the research aims to understanding the complex pathogen-eukaryotic host cell interactions mechanisms underlying intracellular survival and proliferation of this pathogenic bacterium.The post is available for 2 years. Annual salary in the region of £24,000-25,000, according experience. The post will be based at the Institute for Infection, Immunity and Evolution, Ashworth Laboratories, King’s Buildings campus, University of Edinburgh, UK. Excellent scientific environment and research facilities.
You will be an enthusiastic individual with a PhD or equivalent in the fields of microbiology, molecular and cellular biology or similar and should have relevant experience demonstrated through appropriate peer-reviewed publications. The ability to work within a team, be highly motivated, reliable and quick to learn are essential requirements.
