Human Genetics of Cancer and Iron

The IMPPC is a recently founded institute combining basic and applied cancer

We are looking for a highly motivated person who is interested in joining a young and dynamic laboratory that seeks to apply state-of-the-art technology in biology and genetics (including personalized genome sequencing). The main research interests of the lab are to explore molecular links between cancer and iron metabolism, to prevent cancer in iron-overload patients by earlier genetic diagnosis and to identify new genes involved in human iron-related diseases.

Patient samples are provided by established partnerships with clinical groups from several Hospitals. We rely on cell culture and a wide variety of biochemical/genetic techniques.

We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate, who wants to work in a young and efficient team to address new and challenging aspects of cancer and iron.
- PhD in Biology, Biochemistry, Medicine, Genetics, Bioinformatics or related
- Good record of publications.
- Languages: English (required), Spanish (helpful).
- Skills: Molecular cloning, cell culture, biochemical and/or genetic techniques, microscopy techniques, bioinformatics …

- Salary: According to experience and profile
- Starting: From November 2009
