Postdoctoral Positions in Cancer Cell Metabolismtext

Two postdoctoral fellow positions are available at the Institute of Cancer Genetics,
Columbia University Medical Center, New York City.
Our laboratory is interested in both basic and translational research on mechanisms of metabolic signaling in cancer, with a special focus on melanoma.

Ongoing primary projects include

1)investigating the crosstalk between the LKB1 (a tumor suppressor) / AMPK (AMP activated kinase, an energy sensor) complex and the oncogenic RAF/MEK/ERK signaling pathway, and exploring the implications on combinational targeted therapy of melanoma using preclinical mouse models;

2) investigating the regulation of cancer cell metabolism by LKB1/AMPK signaling pathway and its
role in cancer biology. For recent representative publications, please see Mol. Cell (2009) 33:237 and PNAS (2007) 104:8. Our laboratory is located at the newly established Irving Cancer Research Center building, which provides an intellectually stimulating scientific environment and state-of-the-art cancer research facilities.

Candidates must have a PhD or equivalent with strong research experience in biochemistry, molecular cell biology and/ or mouse cancer models. No citizenship or permanent residence is required.

Interested applicants should submit a copy of CV and contact information of three references. For further information, please do not hesitate to contact Dr. Bin Zheng at bzheng at bidmc.harvard.edu.
