PREDOCTORAL POSITION IN HYPERTENSIVE CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASE
The Group of “Physiopathology of abdominal aortic aneurism (AAA) and hypertensive disease” led by Dr. María Galán at the Sant Pau Biomedical Research Institute (IIB Sant Pau) seeks for a student with a master degree or finishing it who is willing to become a PhD.
The candidates must hold a Bachelor degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Pharmacy or similar and a good academic expedient since they will be required to apply for National Fellowship Programs to get a pre-doctoral grant.
Our group is focused on the study of therapies based in ER and mitochondrial stress inhibition to limit the vascular wall degeneration that occurs in the progression of abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) and to prevent the progression to heart failure as a consequence of hypertensive disease as well as on the identification of new clinical biomarkers involved in both diseases.
The thesis work will be focused on studying the pathophysiological basis underlying the cardiac remodelling as a consequence of hypertensive disease. Interested candidates should send a brief e-mail introducing themselves and indicating a clear purpose to achieve a PhD student position, an updated CV and academic expedient by email to:
