We are looking for candidates for a PhD position within an industrially supported project. The research project seeks to develop new Hierarchical Topic Modelling (HTM) algorithms for extremely large document collections in Big Data scenarios, solving the scalability problems on current HTM models.
The PhD thesis work will be funded and co-advised by a company which has created an online scientific assistant based on Artificial Intelligence with a database of millions of research papers.
The student will be affiliated with Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, and will be hosted by the Dept. of Signal Theory and Communications. Depending on the academic profile of the candidate, he/she may be required to take the Master on Multimedia and Communications from this department.
PhD candidates interested in Data Science, Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing, with some background in Statistics and some programming skills, are encouraged to apply, by sending a cv to jesus.cid at uc3m.es. A degree on Engineering, Mathematics or Physics is required.
