FIMM Technology Centre has state-of-the-art high throughput screening capacities and is networked with leading Finnish and international chemoinformaticians, medicinal chemists and pharmacologists. The centre offers high throughput screening and chemical probe development both for internal research projects as well as a service for external users.
Chemical biology is an exciting new way to probe biology via specific molecular probes. It closely resembles the early steps of the drug discovery process, but is focusing on biological aims and not on achieving regulatory drug approvals. We are looking for three biologists to develop, adapt and drive internal and external chemical biology and drug discovery projects to high throughput screening and beyond. The post holders will be expected both to develop strategies for, and perform the laboratory work in chemical probe and early drug discovery projects. The work will involve both internally and externally initiated projects in close collaboration with biology principal investigators, high throughput screening experts, chemoinformaticians and medicinal chemists.
Two of the positions are in the FIMM Technology Centre where one is focused on developing and adapting biochemical assays for high throughput screening, and small molecule discovery and the other is focused on developing cell-based assays.
